Maternity Photographer near Baton Rouge, LA

When Erin reached out to me asking about a maternity session, I felt so excited for her. For one thing, I knew Erin dating back to middle school, and seeing her grow her family just makes me happy. Second, I had no doubt that she would slay her session.

She donned mostly pieces from my Client Wardrobe, and also brought in one of her husband’s button-down shirts from home. She knew the looks she was going for, and we executed those flawlessly. This Mama is absolutely stunning! I love everything about her session. This is an overshare, but I feel like they’re too good to keep to myself!

I first met this family for Cayden’s In-Home Newborn Session back in October 2020. This is his six-month month session, which is the second installment of his three-part Milestone Collection. In all of my Milestone Sessions, I offer Mom & Dad (siblings, too) to be part of it. This is a great opportunity to keep the parents in front of the camera since we are usually behind it. This little guy was born on Earth Day, so, naturally, I had to make him something special. I tried my hand a “felting,” and created the perfect Earth to incorporate into his session. Being my favorite non-traditional holiday, I felt it was important to include it! Learn more about why we recognize Earth Day! Every year my family spends the day planting, recycling, and just staying outdoors to enjoy the beautiful weather! April 22 is a wonderful day, and almost always has great weather here in south Louisiana.

Did you know that I offer parents in siblings to be included in all of my milestone sessions? I feel it’s important to not only document your baby’s special time, but also for you to be IN these photos, too. So often we have tons and tons of photos of just our kiddos. This is a great opportunity to hop in and update your family shot.

When Mom reached out to me to book Jay’s Newborn Session, I was so elated. I first met them in 2017 for a family session that fall. It was so great to see them again, and to see how much big brother has grown! He was barely walking then, and is now so big and smart and handsome. It’s evident how much he loves his baby brother. I love this session so much. Mom is just gorgeous, making motherhood look easy. She asked for a neutral color palate, which was perfectly simple and beautiful. I can’t wait to see what she does with these wonderful images. I know they’ll be treasured forever.

I love this age. Six-seven months is one of my favorite milestones, when baby is SO squishy and smiley, and not quite mobile, yet. In all of my milestone sessions, I offer the opportunity for siblings and parents to hop in a few shots with the baby. Annelise brought her big sister, Jolie, with her, and the pair of them are simply precious. Their gorgeous eyes and bright smiles are just perfect. These are a few of my favorites in a timeless black and white edit.

If your baby isn’t sitting unassisted until later in their seventh month, or even in their eighth month, it’s ok! No worries at all. Every baby is different and reaches milestones on their own time. We can plan your session whenever you prefer.

Each of my children started sitting up, crawling, and walking at different times. Actually, the first two were in sync, but they’re twins! They pretty much did everything together — they even cut teeth for the first time only two days apart. I’ll never forget that day. I was sitting in between them in the backseat of our truck while my husband ran into the supermarket. We had just left visiting Santa for the first time, and I was making them laugh. That’s when I spotted the first tiny, little tooth. Some moments you just never forget. Being a mom of four, sometimes I feel like I won’t remember anything. That’s why I keep a journal to jot down things like this that I don’t ever want to forget!

This Mommy and Daddy prayed and prayed and prayed to be blessed with a child, and their day finally came. Sweet little Murphy was born right on time — on his actual due date at Woman’s Hospital in Baton Rouge under the care of Dr. Theresa Brignac with Louisiana Women’s Healthcare! Lots of tears and even more smiles were shared. It was beautiful, and I’m so thankful to have been part of it all. I know his parents were so excited to bring him home to meet his fur brother, Memphis, who was probably anxiously awaiting their arrival.

Melanie was an absolute dream! It was a long day of laboring and her husband, Ray, was just the supportive rock she needed to make it through. Delivery days are long and exhausting, and seeing those babies at the end of it makes it all worthwhile.

Another blessing to brighten our world, indeed.

Want to know something crazy? I actually photographed my OWN delivery! I pushed and clicked the shutter at the same time, and THEN passed the camera to my husband so I could hold my baby. This was my fourth child to deliver, and if it was anything like the previous experiences, then it would be a piece of cake. And it was just that–so, so sweet! Read more about it in the link below.

This was a super sweet Fall Session that we actually had to reschedule a couple of times, and finally hooked up after the new year! It was held in this family’s subdivision which offered beautiful light and a gorgeous waterfront backdrop. I am always open to new locations. Our area is full of hidden gems–it’s just a matter of finding them! I am loving these soft winter tones, and, of course, the love and emotion exchanged here. How gorgeous are this baby’s blue eyes?

I was so excited for this little doll’s newborn session. Sweet, feminine, and just perfect for her. She was a dream baby, and I am so grateful to have spent some time with her and her family. My heart loves the simple, clean set, but I also live for some floral touches here and there.

And can we talk about this Christmas bucket for just a sec? I died. This Christmas babe was just absolutely perfect! Having a birthday near Christmas has a stigma associated with it being that you get a lot of “Happy Christmas-Merry Birthday” presents, but I happen to think it is one of the most magical times of the year to have a birthday. All things warm and decorated so nicely for every single birthday. Lights everywhere and hot cocoa just give a feel that can only be felt during this time of year.
